The Biggest Risk is the one we can’t see coming.
Our economy is designed to price risk and bet on outcomes. This is a very powerful mechanism and is the key to abundance.
But the risk model is broken. By trying to measure everything and spread the cost of risk out around the world, we’ve simply pushed the risk down to the bottom of the economy, where it can’t be measured.
Individuals.
The more money individuals have, the more they are able to acquire help in determining their future. And most importantly, they have enough money to make mistakes.
But there’s good news. It’s a big problem, but it’s fixable. There are two main things that need to be done:
1. A new model has to exist as a choice. That’s what I’m researching with Build In Public University. We are researching the risks individuals face and helping them face them with support. Over time, more resources will lead to more support. This will create a more stable future for all students of Build In Public University, reducing overall risk. This will create a new model of thinking about things like debt, VC, insurance, and money.
2. We need to add liquidity to the ACTUAL market: people. We need to push more cash into the hands of people to release the pressure valve in society. Once we do this, a lot of society’s problems will fix themselves.
I’m doing the hard part with the university. That’s something I was born to do. But the second part is easy: we need people to be generous. Save less and be generous. Don’t worry about whether or not someone “deserves” the money. Every payment is information that you can use for information. What are they using the money for? You don’t have to continue to give money. That’s the beautiful thing about generosity: it’s the ultimate power move. It’s giving without expecting anything in return. It’s the feeling of a god, bestowing a blessing upon someone.
Now it’s time to build the brightest future possible: by engineering generosity.
Currently in pre-pre-sale. I’m hoping to do an official pre-sale at some point with Altamira as my publisher, but I want to prove that I’ve got some demand already. So I’m doing a pay what you want (or even just share an email, I want to show demand for the book specifically, which is why I’m not just using this email list in the data) presale.
Please share this post with anyone that you know who is worried about the future. It’s up to us to create a bright future.
